Accessibility Statement
We want this website to be usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. The site has been adapted in line with Israeli Standard 5568, which is based on the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1), level AA, as required by the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013.
What we have done
- An accessibility menu on every page (the hexagon button on the left edge of the screen) offers high contrast, dark mode, larger text, stopping animations and underlined links. Your choices are remembered as you move between pages.
- The whole site can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to main content” link at the top of each page.
- Pages are marked up with headings, landmarks and a declared language, so screen readers can navigate them.
- Images have text alternatives, and buttons, form fields and map markers have accessible names.
- The moving photo strips in the gallery can be paused, and animations switch off if your device is set to reduce motion.
- The layout adapts to small screens and to browser zoom.
Known limitations
- Publications link to journal websites and files that are not under our control and may not be fully accessible. If you need an accessible copy of one of our papers, email us and we will send one.
- The collaborators map is visual; each marker can be reached with the keyboard and is named, but if you need the list of collaborators in another format, please ask.
If you find a page or document that is hard to use, please let us know so we can fix it.
